First Big Deal for New Year! 2.56-billion New Energy Investment Project is Signed

The new year starts with ambition and resolution. The signing of the first major project, BatteroTech Phase II, was executed by Jiashan County in the afternoon of the 7^th day, or the first working day of the 2023 Chinese New Year according to the Chinese lunar calendar. The BatteroTech Phase II project has been the first “big deal” for business and investment attraction in 2023, the Year of the Rabbit. It marks the settlement of the second new energy project in Jiashan undertaken by Tsingshan Holding Group, a Fortune Global 500 company, since it invested the Jiashan County in 2020. Jiang Haiyang, Zhang Xifeng, and government leaders at city and county levels were present at the signing ceremony.

The BatteroTech Phase II project involves factory expansion and the construction of the Batterotech Research Institute with a total investment of 2.56 billion RMB yuan as stipulated in the agreement. Concerning the factory expansion, a production project of lithium-ion battery cells and modules with an annual production capacity of 16 GWh will be expanded based on the Phase I project, totaling an investment of 1.92 billion RMB yuan. Upon the successful construction of the project, equipment and processing can all be upgraded and more importantly, BatteroTech can expand its overall production capacity to 32GWh, thus doubling the annual production value and further pooling the supporting businesses of the upstream and downstream links to Jiashan. Furthermore, BatteroTech is to build the BatteroTech Research Institute with a total investment of 640 million RMB yuan and set up R&D bases for new energy resources, shaping an industrial chain for new energy battery portfolios.

Jiang Haiyang, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee and Party Secretary of Jiashan County addressed the signing ceremony. In his speech, he interpreted the organization of the first project signing event on the first working day of the 2023 New Year as an attempt to send signals from the Jiashan County Party Committee and People’s Government to foster major projects and seek major accomplishments in project development. He stressed that the new energy industry is both the core battlefield for forging a strategic presence in the Yangtze River Delta and the competitive sector that Jiashan prioritizes. The signing event shall be seized as a precious opportunity across the board in Jiashan to take responsive action in full enthusiasm and launch campaigns to fully promote investment, business attraction, and project development across the new energy industry.

A project-oriented mindset shall be continuously adhered to fully serve the production capacity ramp-up of the BatteroTech Phase I project and the timely kick-off of its Phase II project. Supporting services of the BatteroTech-centered new energy industry shall be strengthened in the meantime, and efforts to attract electric engine and motor projects relevant to lithium-ion batteries shall be ramped up, expediting shaping the pattern of a new energy industry cluster with all-around development strengths in Jiashan. 

A resolution to “rank among top players” shall be continuously stimulated, and the Jiashan qualities of “resilience and preservation, dedication and enterprise spirit” shall be further advocated. In detail, the unswerving motivation to “make the most of every moment through unremitting efforts” is required to ensure the project can be built, put into mass production, and deliver yields as early as possible by inverting the construction period and visually projecting progress by the wallchart regarding the BatteroTech Phase II project.  

     The awareness to prioritize service quality shall be further raised by implementing the “No.1 Reform Project” in the business climate in depth through the following acts: transform the thinking and mindset and optimize policies and efficiency; intensify the support to introduce corporate talents, motivate companies to increase funding in R&D, and pragmatically solve real difficulties in the growth and development of BatteroTech. Such efforts all bolster BatteroTech’s evolution into an industry leader and shall make greater contributions to Jiashan County’s “double demonstration” goal!
